Saffron also known as Kesar, KumKuma puvvu, Kungumapoo, Zafran is world’s most expensive spice. Grown once a year in the months of Oct-Nov, it is hand harvested and Graded to ISO3632 Grade 1 parameters. It takes 170000 flowers to get just 1kg of Saffron.

Our Produce comes from beautiful valley of Pampore, Kashmir, India.

Shipping within India-

We offer Free Shipping across India including villages. Transit time is approx 2-7days depending on location. You can WhatsApp us on +91-7837960422 for estimated time or customising your order.

Shipping Outside India-

We ship using FedEx, DHL to customers outside India. Delivery Time varies from 3-10days depending on location.

Any Duties, VAT etc. if charged are to be paid directly by customer to courier companies.

Return Policy for orders to be delivered within India-

If you are not satisfied with the quality of our product you need to immediately inform us by WhatsApp +91-7837960422 or Email- contact@houseofsaffron.com within 1day of order delivered date.

You will receive confirmation and instructions to send back goods in original condition and packing to us. Not more than 1% or 0.1grams of saffron whichever is lower should have been used.

Once we receive back goods we will do QC and refund full amount you paid to its original payment method.

Return courier charges are to be borne by customer and customer needs to make sure that goods are delivered to us within 7days from our confirmation.

International Order Returns-

Orders placed from outside India and to be delivered outside India cannot be cancelled or refunded or exchanged.

Q. Is this Pure Saffron?

A. Yes, our product is 100% Pure and tested to ISO3632 standards. In addition it is tested at FSSAI approved labs as well.

Q. Do Original Saffron Threads turn white/transparent?

A. Yes, Saffron threads depending on potency, age of crop, medium in which you are dipping like Tap Water, Chlorine Water, Mineral Water, Filter Water, Milk etc. will loose its color to white/transparent/light ranging anywhere from an hour to a months time.

Some Saffron Threads may loose color earlier and some later even if these are from same batch. Its natural.

Ultimately Original Saffron Threads either will color power of 250+ will loose its color to transparent/opaque/white.

Q. Do Saffron Threads dissolve in Water, Milk?

A. No, Original Saffron Threads never dissolve in Water or Milk if kept for 1-2days.

Commom mistake-

Customers need to note here that when you dip saffron threads in water and in a transparent glass you can see all threads in it.

But when you dip in Milk you need to use strainer and pour mixture in another glass to count no. of threads.

There are certain things which one needs to know in this-

  • Saffron Threads may disintegrate when dipped directly in hot or boiling water.
  • Saffron Threads will become short in length and may disintegrate when kept in liquid either water or milk for days.
  • Original Saffron Threads Water which is deep yellow in color will ultimately turn to transparent from 3-4days to 30days time.

Q. Do Original Saffron Threads float up or fall down when dipped in Water or Milk?

A. There is no correlation between Original Saffron Threads floating up or in middle or settling down either in Water or Milk.

This is common misinformation made by freelancers, youtubers, instagramers, influencers.

Q. Do Saffron Threads have same smell all around the year?

A. No, Original Saffron Threads will not have same smell throughout the year. Saffron Threads smell keeps on changing like from Sweet smell to hue musty type depending on age of crop and storage method.

Q. How to use Saffron in water?

A. Best way is to use with warm water. Take 5-6 Saffron Threads and dip it in water for atleast 30minutes. You can than use this mixture in your receipe.

  • Saffron Threads may give some color immediately when dipped in Hot Water but full color will release between anywhere 1-2mins to 30mins barring any claims made by Freelancers, Influencers, Youtubers, Instagramers.
  • When dipped in cold water even than also it may give some color immediately but full color will release anywhere between 2-3mins to upto an hour.

Saffron Threads color release time depends on Age of Crop, Climate Temperature, Moisture in Crop, Temperature of Water or Milk.

A. For Milk dip 5-6 Saffron threads in 2-3 tablespoon of lukewarm milk. Make sure no other ingredient is dipped alongwith it in milk. Leave for 1-2hours and use this mixture in your receipe. More the dip time better the results.

5-6 Saffron Threads will give light yellow to yellow color in glass of milk.

10-12 Saffron Threads will give yellow to deep yellow color in glass of milk.

16-20 Saffron Threads will give deep yellow color in glass of milk.

Q. How to use Saffron in Cold Milk?

A. Saffron Threads will not give color in cold milk or a very light color even if you dip for 24hours or more.
